Houston Powers to First Win of the Season at Tri-County

Opening night at Anderson Motor Speedway on March 27th, they practiced, qualified but fell short of getting a lap in for the race due to rain moving in. So it was safe to say that the drivers and teams were more than ready to battle it out on the track. Tri-County Speedway in Hudson, North Carolina hosted the series for the first of three stops this season on Saturday, May 8th. Ashton Higgins set the fastest time in both practice rounds in his #9 Chevrolet Silverado. Qualifying was up next for the fourteen drivers. Little did we know we would see the track record broken twice this day, Clark Houston claimed the Renegade Race Fuels Pole Award with a blistering time of 15.892 and Higgins second fastest with a time of 15.960.
