Tissot Scores First Win of the Season at Anderson

  By Gerald Harris Photo by Keith Anderson The Southeast Super Truck Series returned to Anderson Motor Speedway on September 19th. As the season is beginning to wind down we have seen several different winners and a lot of tough competition. The first practice was up, and the drivers were eager to get the day under way. Newport, Tennessee’s Ed Surrett topped the first round speed charts with a time of 15.931. Kenneth Headen, Clark Houston, Greg Nix, and Lee Tissot rounded out the top five. The second practice round, it was the lone female of Taylor Hosford who clawed her way to the top of the charts. This young driver has been the brides-made to victory lane the few weeks with her runner up finishes. Greg Nix, Tim Lollis, Clark Houston, and Lee Tissot rounded out the top five. The final practice round it was the young gun of Tanner Carter from Monroe, Georgia who set the fast time. Followed by Greg Nix, Toby Hollifield, Lee Tissot, and Brett Suggs. Ashton Higgins Makes it Three In A Row at Anderson

Anderson Motor Speedway has hosted a lot of significant races over the history. The last two races has been won by Ashton Higgins the defending track champion at AMS. The teams unloaded on the beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. Justin Southerlin topped the first round practice charts with a time of a 16.181, he was followed by Higgins, Ryan Howard, DJ Canipe, and Chris Smith. The second round we seen Chris Whitfield on top with a time of a 16.166. Higgins, Southerlin, Gallman, and Josh Goble rounded out the top five. Ashton Higgins worked his way to the top of the charts in the final practice, running a quicker time of 16.063. Southerlin, Goble, TJ Lollis, and DJ Canipe rounded out the top five. Clark Houston Gets First Win of the Season at Lonesome Pine

  By Gerald Harris Photo By Keith Anderson The Southeast Super Trucks made their return to Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, Virginia. After a few year hiatus from the speedway, the teams were eager to make laps around the historical 3/8ths mile oval. The track has seen some changes since all the dirt was removed from the racing surface, new asphalt applied in the corners. There was three practice rounds for the drivers to take advantage of, Clark Houston topped the first round with a time of 16.315, Tanner Carter and Kenneth Headen rounded out the top three. The second round it was Taylor Hosford who clawed her way to the top of the speed charts with a best lap of 16.417; Kenneth Headen and Tanner Carter rounded out the top three. The final round of practice it was Tanner Carter who set the pace followed by Jamie Barbrey and Tim Dale. Higgins Claims Second Win of the Season at Lonesome Pine

  By Gerald Harris Photo by Keith Anderson The SEST Limited Late Models made the trek up into Southwestern Virginia, in the hills of the coal mining town of Coeburn. Lonesome Pine Raceway, which was covered up with dirt and lasted only a short stint. The dirt was scraped up and cleaned off, new asphalt laid down in the turns. The series had three practice rounds, and in the first round it was the 2017 Southeast Super Stock Champion (which is now the Limited Late Model division) Ashton Higgins who laid down the fastest time of 16.533. Justin Southerlin, DJ Canipe rounded out the top three. The second practice round it was Zack Franks son of Junior Franks who set the fast time of 16.509, Higgins and Josh Goble rounded out the top three. The final round of practice it was Mart Nesbitt who was the fastest, Mart who was piloting his daughters car for the first time this year.
